You May be Repatriated if You Contact a Contagious Disease

In order to prevent contagious diseases from being carried into Taiwan, employers should arrange for regular health check-ups for their foreign workers.

If a migrant worker catches tuberculosis, TB pleurisy, or Hansen’s disease while being employed, he will be put on medication and then repatriated. If a migrant worker catches sputum-positive pulmonary tuberculosis, he will be given DOT for fourteen days and then repatriated.
